Products
Merox's development
and production is integrated with SSAB:s production of high quality
steel.
The quality control in the steel industry and the very detailed
analysis are a great benefit to us.
We know
exactly what goes into our production - and what comes out. The
products are often developed in cooperation with our customers and their desires
and demands are of great importance to us.
Sand, stone and crush-material
Our main product, Hyttsten,
a light weight crushed material, consists of remelted natural rocks and
limestone, which are being air-cooled. Hyttsand is a
granulated type. Both products are environmental friendly, with high carrying
capacity and light weight and at reasonable prices.
- Hyttsten is
the Swedish trade name for the all-purpose aggregate, known as
ACBFS (air-cooled blast furnace slag) in the US and Canada and
ABS in the EU.
- Hyttsand is the Swedish trade name for
GBS
(Granulated blast funace
slag).

Cement, concrete, binding
agents
Merit 5000 is a fine grinded slag
cement with a lot of interesting possibilities, e.g. as an additive in asphalt
and for ground stabilisation!
Ferric oxides

Merox Ferric Oxide is used for the
production of ferrite components but also as a red colouring pigment.
We also sell a
brown pigment Merox Brown Iron Oxide Pigment.
Black Iron
Oxide
Mill-scale is the oxide coat which is formed when hot
plate and slabs come in contact with oxygen. The product name is Black
Iron Oxide. We also sell different kinds of scrap.
Raw materials for iron and steel
manufacturing
Merox also manufactures a number of
metallurgical products based on industrial minerals for steel refining
processes:
Viscotherm, basic covering powder for tundishs
and ladels.
Protherm, covering powder against
radiation.
Reotherm and Syntal are
synthetic slag-formers.
Agricultural
products
BF-lime contains important
elements such as lime, magnesium and manganese. Ammonium Sulphate is
a fertilizer (N=21%) for field- and leaf-fertilizing. Other fields of
application are for example waste water treatment, hardener for pastes.
