Strong gravel road

Hyttsten on gravel roads make the road stronger, durable and safer - all year round.

Hyttsten - an economical and environmentally-friendly quality material.

A gravel road with surface course of Hyttsten has good carrying capacity and needs only minor future maintenance. This maintenance is carried out traditionally by watering and using a road grader

How to attain a good gravel road

We recommend waiting until the road is wet, after rain or thaw. Use the road grader until you have a softer wet base surface then top it with 5-10 cm Hyttsten 0/8mm..

Hyttsten - the simple and effective method for better gravel roads.

When the gravel and soil have reacted to and bonded with Hyttsten it will result in a gravel road with a smooth and level surface.

If the base surface is bad e.g. containing a lot of rolling gravel etc you ought to use approximately 10cm Hyttsten 0/16mm, however, finish off with Hyttsten 0/8 for the best results.

The firmness and hardiness of Hyttsten increases with time through chemical reactions and cementing bonding. This increased bearing capacity reduces the risk for potholes and ribbing in the surface.

More volume per ton
Hyttsten has a lower weight by volume than traditional road material. The lessened pressure on the surface leads to a lesser risk for damage to bad base earth. The lesser weight of volume is more economical for transport from us to you.
Hyttsten insulates against the cold better than traditional road material leading to a decrease in frost damage.
